The idea was first conceived by Mr. Ahmed Saleem, an architect by profession. Project Pod aims to deliver what he feels is the ultimate construction solution for building overwater bungalows.
In his always epic way of living, which is going against the norms and standing up to challenges, Project Pod is made entirely out of sustainable SpeedSteel. Rust, maintainance and even corrosion from sea water were some of the issues that he has addressed in Project Pod as such making this absolutely revolutionary.
Till Marzloff, while working with Mr Saleem, caught on to this idea and envisioned various concepts of overwater bungalow designs using these pods. Till found that these pods gave him the flexibility to build all kinds designs using these pods and forgiving, if mistakes were made. The unique blend of Saleem and Till, brought about various permutations and designs of the overwater bungalows. This would mean that the prospective clients would have already got a predesigned bungalow with the necessary number of pods required.
Focused on material design, sourcing and value engineering, Ketan Doshi undertook this idea and presented the drawings to many factories. To address all the negative aspects of steel construction, and utilizing this in the harsh environments of the Maldives, SpeedSteel was trademarked and patented. Clipping and latching systems were designed to meet the requirements of both Till and Mr Saleem.
In January 2024, Ministry of Wow, presented Project Pod to a developer of resorts in the Maldives. We truly hope that this new method of construction would be taken up by leading architects and contractors to create a new frontier in Overwater Bungalow Construction.
